Actress Regina King wins Oscar for best supporting actress for her role in Barry Jenkins, “If Beale Street Could Talk,” playing a matriarch whose spirit is as strong as her love for her family. King is just one of three black actresses who have on their mantels both an Oscar and a Prime time Emmy Award. In her acceptance speech she thanks God and calls herself someone who is an example of what it looks like when love and support is poured into someone. King told CNN that she had been preparing for the role of her life, she felt like then and there it paid off.
Regina King definitely deserved the Oscar she won. Most people do not know who Regina King is but she is definitely a phenomenal actress that have played many great roles. Winning this Oscar was a blessing to her and she deserves many more.
